DSO festival opens on strong note, despite perplexing theme
A curious mind might wonder just what the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's "8 Days in June" festival, which opened Friday night at Orchestra Hall, is supposed to be about. In its second year, the 2008 festival very much resembles last year's tenuously themed, catch-all concerts aimed at increasing the DSO's audience with a younger group of listeners.
