Susan Dreydoppel spent 18 years as first full-time leader of historical group. The floor boards creaked inside the 18-century Whitefield House in Nazareth, as students filed into a Moravian worship room fixing their eyes on Susan Dreydoppel standing beside a pipe organ made in 1776.

'Cry-Baby': The sad thing is its silliness
NEW YORK - If the '50s were nothing more than a cartoon, they would be the new Broadway musical Cry-Baby. Not that there's anything terrible about that - the 1990 John Waters movie that inspired the show is sublimely ridiculous (until the last few minutes, when it becomes just ridiculous and stops being sublime).

Violinist's encore worth waiting for
No one can accuse Vadim Repin of jumping the gun on an encore. Unlike some other soloists, whose encores are not quite justified by the enthusiasm or persistence of the audience, Repin disappeared for what seemed like a long minute after his Sibelius Violin Concerto Thursday night with the Philadelphia Orchestra, leaving the audience in a state of sustained anticipation.
