Saxing up the Jazz Festival
The Elkhart Jazz Festival kicked off Friday night, and at 6:30 p.m. the seats in front of the free Civic Plaza stage on Main Street were full. By 7:30 p.m. people were standing shoulder to shoulder, filling the street and sidewalks.Friday’s Civic Plaza lineup included the U.S. Army Blues Jazz Ensemble, saxophonist Tim Cunningham, Cathy Morris and Collage, and The U.S. Army Blues Jazz Quintet.

Multi-Cultural Festivel begins
PARKERSBURG - A large crowd turned out Friday evening to hear music, see crafts and eat food at the 13th annual Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival at City Park. Bea Corra, one of the founders and board president, said the crowd at the festival varies during the evenings, but usually there are 1,500 to 1,800 people in the park for the event.

PARKERSBURG - Cultural diversity takes center stage today as the 13th edition of the Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival opens at City Park. Admission is free and opening ceremonies are 7:15 p.m. The festival, which highlights the cultural diversity of the Mid-Ohio Valley and an understanding among different people, runs from 6 to 11 p.m. today, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Tarpon students Attend Summer Music Camp

At a practice session at Tarpon Springs High School, some elementary schoolers began by assembling their orffs, instruments resembling xylophones.
