Oh! What a night it was! On Wednesday, June 18, about 50 Barters Island residents came to the Community Center to enjoy a pot- luck supper and to listen to music by Kay Brown and Emily Spofford. Nobody was disappointed.

DaPonte String Quartet concerts and Picnics at the Gardens
Last summer's DaPonte String Quartet concert at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens was so well received that the DSQ has been selected as Artists in Residence at the Gardens for 2008. During July and August, the Quartet will perform seven concerts in the Gardens' Visitor Center - a four-concert series followed by the three-concert Boothbay Chamber Music Festival at the Gardens.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – Family and friends gathered near the site where Wiley Pressley was murdered one year ago. Pressley had just opened a music store near Lowdermilk and East Market a few months earlier when he was killed during a robbery. Police arrested Kenneth Munn and a 15-year-old in Pressley's murder.
