Province funds new literacy centre for Peel board
The Peel District School Board has been awarded funding to open a fourth parent and family literacy centre. Premier Dalton McGuinty and Education Minister Kathleen Wynne announced yesterday that the Liberal government will increase by $2 million this year its funding for the centres to help young people get a good start in school. That brings total funding for the 123 centres to $8 million.
