Charlotte Fields Get a Cleanup
Charlotte Little League fields will be ready to play ball thanks in part to some experts in the field. The Rochester Red Wings grounds crew and volunteers from the city and county parks departments helped the Charlotte Youth Athletic Association spruce up everything from the mound to center field.

Fine goodies at farmer's market
Today is the debut of Saturdays at Canyon Plaza South - an "outdoor shopping extravaganza and farmer's market" in Cathedral City behind McDonald's. Vendors will showcase art, antiques, clothing, crafts, jewelry and more. It runs from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Saturday in May and June, on July 5, Aug. 30 and Sept. 27 and then again every Saturday starting in October and through December.

Tharp-Costello Collaboration Highlights Dance Season
A collaboration between an esteemed choreographer and a popular musician will hit the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion this fall. The production called Nightspot , featuring choreography by Twyla Tharp (who partnered on previous shows with Billy Joel and Bob Dylan) and music by Elvis Costello will open the sixth season of the Dance at the Music Center series, Music Center officials announced last week.
