Disharmony Strikes Barbershop Singers
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- As thousands of singers converge on Nashville for an international convention of barbershop harmony music, the old-fashioned music style is facing discord among its fans. The 70-year-old Barbershop Harmony Society moved to Tennessee last year from Kenosha, Wis., as a part of a move by leadership to recruit more youth and modernize the organization.

Summer storm delays fireworks
The fireworks display at World's Fair Park went off nearly an hour later than planned Friday after a severe thunderstorm moved through the area. Tens of thousands of people gathered earlier for the fireworks display at the Festival on the 4th at the park were told to leave as the thunderstorm was moving in. They were told to go to their cars or into the adjoining Knoxville Convention Center.

Diversity at center of Holland's inaugural Celebration Freedom Festival
Celebrating the Fourth of July at Kollen Park was quite a refreshing change for Lucille Lopez. The Chicago resident is use to the mayhem associated with the fireworks in the Windy City. “You are mobbed by thousands and thousands,” she said. This year Lopez and a friend decided to do something different. They traveled up the Lake Michigan coast Thursday and arrived in Holland.
