News in brief: Westchester, Putnam
A 16-year-old girl from Putnam Valley slipped and fell from a rock cliff at the Popolopen Gorge in Bear Mountain State Park yesterday around 2 p.m. She fell about 40 feet to a rock ledge below and was taken by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for serious head injuries, state park police reported.
