'Times' tours Music Hall in Portsmouth
The Music Hall in Portsmouth got its day in the sun this week, when a pair of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists from the New York Times visited the historic theater. Columnist Dan Barry and photojournalist Angel Franco took extensive tours of the 1878 facility, which has been undergoing major renovations since 2003.

Ralph Burgard set Augusta on road to arts corridor
We had big dreams 20 years ago; some of them came true. An obituary in The New York Times on July 10 noted the death of Ralph W. Burgard, calling him "a leader in the movement to create arts programs in communities around the country." He died July 3 at his home in Duxbury, Mass., at age 81, of complications associated with cancer.
