Hillman prepares for 63rd Annual VJ Days Festival
Hillman's 63rd annual VJ Days Festival will kick off Thursday, Aug. 7. with the Miss Hillman and Young Miss Pageants at the Community Center beginning at 7 p.m. The VJ Days celebration is a tradition in Hillman that started after World War II. Brush Creek Mill Coordinator Edith Lennox said the festival originally started as a parade and picnic and evolved into a little more.
