Topper Milligi, longtime sailor & ocean enthusiast
Former West Islip resident Raymond "Topper" Milligi III, who loved the sea, died July 12, 2008 at his home in Saratoga Springs, New York after a ten year illness. He was 64. "He loved the ocean so much that his favorite music was the Beach Boys," said his wife of 44 years, Carmen (nee Accettella).

Assemblyman Bob Sweeney welcomed students from North Babylon Robert Moses Middle school to Albany as part of Music in Our Schools Month, sponsored by the New York State School Music Association. The Robert Moses School's Select Chorus, shown with Assemblyman Sweeney, and the Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble, performed at the Empire State Plaza.

Fashion meets technicolor in Norman
Models in brightly colored uniforms walked the runway in Norman Friday night. Dreamer Concepts Studio and Foundation, located in downtown Norman, hosted the Jamie McCarty and Technicolor Army Fashion Show. Attendees were treated to fashion, food and live music as the sun set.

Young Pointer performers wow concertgoers
