Cornfest draws crowds, benefits charity
Folks formed steady lines at the corn booth at Island Lake' Lions Annual Cornfest Sunday. "This is our payback to the community," said Lions Secretary Geoffrey Zivic. "We give away 3,000 ears of corn... because of the community's donations to the club." By the end of the day, the donations - which go toward the club's support for the visually and hearing impaired - added up to more than $1,650.
