Music Review: Lenny Kravitz - It Is Time For A Love Revolution
With his eighth album, Lenny Kravitz returns to form; early-to-mid-90s form, that is. It Is Time For A Love Revolution is nostalgic rock and roll master Lenny Kravitz’s 8th studio album. It debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 in the first week of February, and though it didn’t last long there, this was Kravitz’s first Top 5 album since his Greatest Hits CD in 2000. And for good reason: though ...

To better appreciate what Philip Faraone does, you must get inside his passion. Literally inside. Follow him as he enters Providence’s Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul and crosses the polished marble floor to the north transept wall.

Capital Sounds: Musical happenings in and around the Capital City
Wow, it seems like summer just arrived last week, and now I'm writing this with a flannel on as the sun sets here in Ol' Montpeculiar. This crisp, late summer/early fall weather is my favorite type, and it's the kind that makes you want to get out and do some things before the just-around-the-corner winter begins. Here's what's worth doin': ...

Music Review: House of Badger - Death Birds
Experimental? Psychedelic? Welcome to the intoxicating world that is the House of Badger. Put the words ‘experimental’ and ‘psychedelic’ on an album's release and I have to admit that curiosity will always get the better of me. In this case, I am so glad that it did. Rather than kill the cat it has added to my musical world by opening my eyes to something rather special. The bizarrely named ...

DVD Review: I Got The Feelin' - James Brown in the '60s
A great tribute to James Brown and his impact on the ‘60s both, musically and culturally. The subtitle of this set is slightly inaccurate as almost all the content focuses on the year 1968, two of the DVDs specifically dealing with his concert at the Boston Garden the day after Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, but that doesn’t make the content any less compelling.Disc 1 features the ...
