Corporate report: BJ's profits up
BJ's Wholesale Club Inc. -- The discount warehouse club's first-quarter profit rose to $17.19 million, or 29 cents per share, from $13.65 million, or 21 cents per share, a year ago, when results were boosted a penny per share after BJ's closed 46 in-store pharmacies. Analysts expected per-share earnings of 28 cents.

By County Press Reporter - Thursday, May 22, 2008 BEMBRIDGE Carnival, which was cancelled a month ago, is back on, thanks to volunteers who came forward after reading an article in the County Press . Just eight years after it was resurrected, the carnival was cancelled in April because of complications over meeting IW Council requirements and obtaining licences.

Jazz Vocalist DONNA DEUSSEN is a California native, but spent much of her childhood in rural New Hampshire. She began taking piano lessons at age 7, and began taking her love of singing seriously in high school, where she was admitted to the All-New England Choir both her junior and senior years.
