Pop singer invites Newton South a cappella group to record with him
No one was more surprised than Maya Lee Parritz, a junior at Newton South, in her third year singing with the Newtones, when they got an email from pop singer Ben Folds. The group had been using the dark and moody Folds song “Evaporated” as an encore at their shows for a number of years. It had become a crowd favorite, and a live version of it was posted on YouTube.
